An Earthquake is one of the best cocktails you will every taste

By Otto
One of the best mixed drinks ever is the Earthquake. It was invented by artist Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. It contains two of my favorite liquors, Cognac and Absinthe. It contains one shot of each of those two liquors. The rest is to put it in a glass and pour just a little water over a sugar cube, on an Absinthe spoon until it taste smooth enough to drink.
Here in Kansas the drink is expensive. Absinthe usually cast a little over $100 a fifth. Cognac isn't much cheaper. But combining those two flavors is out of this world. If a person can afford this drink once a year or once a lifetime it is well worth it.
Cognac is distilled wine and is a brandy with an extremely mild trace of sweetness. Absinthe is a liquorish flavor, with a trace of bitter wormwood. Some of the Eastern European Absinthe usually has more of the wormwood taste while the French versions have very little in them.
Toulouse-Lautrec was an Absinthe drinker. He also liked Cognac.
