It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, in all the stores and on the TV. We still haven’t had Turkey Day yet, were we hang out with ALL our relatives and eat greesy meet and other fixin’s till we want to puke. But there’s big money in Christmas so the shopping Christmas season has begun.
I don’t know many people who have put up a tree or Christmas decorations, but step into your local food store or mega mart and you’ll find all kinds of Christmas decorations, gift ideas and holiday food items. They haven’t started on the Christmas music yet. That comes the day after Thanksgiving. By the time Dec. 25 rolls around, most of us will be so sick of traditional Christmas carrolls, we’ll start throwing shoes at our TV specials and choacking any relative that even hums “Let It Snow” (reguardless of which billionth version they hum).
We don’t really celebrate the Birth of Jesus on Dec. 25. We celebrate a multi-$billion industry that we support with what little money we have, so a few corporate fat cats get rich.
