It was another successful night of performance Art

It was a fine night at Kirby's open mike night. I did performance art once again. I read some of my poems with Duke Ellington in the back ground and props of little soldiers, a fake Christmas tree and a replica of a pyre.

My first poem was a Christmas ditty:

It's a crap, happy Christmas

Buy Crap
Buy more crap than you need
Buy more crap than you can ever use
Buy crap for your brother
Buy crap for your mom
Buy crap for your, dad, your sister, your son and your wife
You just can't buy enough crap
Crap makes you happy
And if it don't
Crap makes you happy if you add religion to your life
Crap and religion will make you happy
Christmas is religion
Capitalism is crap
Buy crap
Go to church
And then buy more crap
Crap will make you happy along with religion
Buy more crap

Then I poured into the war and death business with:

Put another body on the Pyre

The lyrics are my own and the music is from Put Another Log on the Fire, sung by the Outlaws and Tompall Glaser

Put another body on the Pyre:

Put another body on the pyre.
Serve us all some coffee and some cake
And go out to the car and burn the tyres.
To my coffin my socks and old blue jeans.
Come on, baby, toss me my wet pipe,
And then go find my slippers.
While you’re at it another pair of feet.

Then slam another body on the pyre, babe,
Together we’ll sizzle and face eternity.
Now didn't I let you ride the car-bomb Sunday?
Don't I warn you when you're gettin kinda flat?
Ain't I a-gonna take you on a tour of duty someday?
Well, a man can't love a woman more than that.

Ain't I always nice when you’re blistered?
Don't I let you handle dynamite?
So, sit here at my feet 'cos they got blown off in the street,
And you know it’s OK for chicks to fight.
So, slam another body on the pyre,
Serve us all some coffee and some cake
Go out to the car and rig a bomb to blow off the tyres.
Wash the shrapnel from my socks and old blue jeans.
Come on, baby, toss me my wet pipe,
And then go fetch my slippers.
While you’re at it another pair of feet.

Then slam another body on the pyre, babe,
Together we’ll sizzle and face eternity.
