Elvis Costello in Wichita

By SJ Otto
Elvis Costello put on a great show at the Orpheum last Saturday Night. His real name is Declan Patrick MacManus Throughout the concert he talked of his family, of which most were in show business and even had pictures showing on a giant fake TV.
He played a mostly one man show, where he played guitar, piano and a few other instruments. At one point he had two women come out and play with him. He played a lot of music from his older albums, such as My Aim Is True (1977), with such classics as "Watching The Detectives," and a few songs from his such albums as Spike (1989), with such song as "Deep Dark Truthful Mirror."
He also played a lot of new his material. While he has played a lot of experimental music, as in country, jazz and crooning, he mostly stuck to his rock songs. He played "veronica" after a fan yelled out for it from the balcony.
He made a lot of comments about places he's been with a little sarcasm of Wichita, calling it an out-of-the-way paradise.
Over all it was an enjoyable concert.

Pix from Wikipedia, since my camera messed up on me.
