Music without the robber barrens

By Otto

There are consequences for being a complete ass hole and pharmaceutical profiteer Martin Shkreli is finding that out. He is the genius that decided to hike the price of a 62-year-old drug called Daraprim from $13.50 to $750 per tablet. The strategy is easy to see. Just jack the price of a dug up several times that of which sick people can pay and eventually a good portion of the people will pay that.
But not everyone he knows will just shut up about it...

According to The Huffington Post:

"For a band called Nothing, a Philadelphia-based rock group, that has a two-album contract with a label that happens to be bankrolled by Shkreli, It's an odious association. It does not rock."

The group is disgusted by the profiteering of Shkreli. They don't want any part of what he is doing. They would like to break with him but are not sure if they legally can.

According to The Washington Post:

"The medicine, Daraprim, which has been on the market for 62 years, is the standard of care for a food-borne illness called toxoplasmosis caused by a parasite that can severely affect those with compromised immune systems. Turing purchased the rights to the drug last month and almost immediately raised prices."

The last  thing this popular rock band wants is to be tied to a profiteer who has no interest in justice or helping people in the US. It is no surprise that no one in the music industry wants anything to do with such a robber barren. -Otto
